Using Nature As A Stamping Tool For Your Creative Projects

Using Nature As A Stamping Tool For Your Creative Projects

During the autumn season, I find many things in nature to use creatively. In this post, I use leaves, pinecones, tree bark, etc. as stamping tools. It’s very easy and fun to do. You will not end up with the same image twice.

Tools you’ll need:

Nice drawing paper

Brayer

Ink Applicator Sponge/Sponge Dauber/Foam Ink Blending Tool (that’s used in stenciling)

Ink (have many colors) used in stamping (you could use acrylics, but I find ink works better)

Leaves of all kinds

Pinecones, tree bark, etc.

Baby wipes to clean
You can also use autumn themed stamps and stencils to add more dimension to your work.
1.    Gather your leaves and make sure they are clean.
2.    Place your paper in a good position. Ink one leaf with an ink blending tool and place the ink side on the paper, then roll over it with the brayer. Gently lift, repeat. Use many colors related to autumn.
3.    Do the same with pinecones, tree bark etc. as you did with the leaves.
4.    Use baby wipes to clean.
