Christmas Cards 2015

These are a handful of Christmas cards I made this year to send out to friends. Nothing too complicated as I wanted to finish and send out quickly. This year I joined a Christmas card exchange for the first time and it was a lot of fun. I hope to do the same next year but with handmade cards instead of store bought.

When I started this project, I noticed improvement as each new card was made. I made two of each (one for myself and one to the other person).

I used various papers, cardstock, embossing folders, stamps (both regular and digital), inks, colored pens, paints, and even tried dryer sheets with glitter shown through them. I had fun doing these and can't wait to do more.

The two cards below are my first creations.

All the cards below are a progression of my design and creativity.

Halloween Card and Tag 2015

Halloween card using different stamps, papers and Autumn like colours.
Halloween tag using one stamp, stencil, papers and glitter.

I sent the tag off to KWernerDesign which she showcased it (as with many other cards and tags) in her video. Krisitina has a different topic every month so her viewers can participate. Viewing the cards and tags from other people gives me inspiration to create more and do different designs.

Check out her YouTube channel and blog.

Halloween Cards and an ATC

I decided to make Halloween cards this year. I haven’t made cards in over a decade so trying to get back into this was a “little” difficult. The difficulty wasn’t in creating it was getting them done in time to send. I only sent two cards as it was nearing the end date. Next year I will be on the ball to make more and send more. I also did an ATC. I need to do two more for the set.

As you can see I went with a solemn look for the cards. The images are in my collection and I used a stamp for the greeting and bat. The bats background stamp was done in white so to be able to see it better.

I wanted to do black and white for the ATC. I really like the contrast. Papers, printable image and a bat stamp was used for this.
